Room type switched without my okay

If I ever have to call WDWTC to change dates for some reason (which I typically don't, because you can usually make this modification online) I always check the site for availability and pricing prior to placing the call. That way, if the CM is quoting me something different than what I'm seeing, I can let them know and they can either re-check their dates and quote or get guest services involved. The training and knowledge of the CMs at the call center is so varied. I've spoken to CMs who seriously know their stuff and their way around the system. Others, I don't think have ever stepped foot in a WDW resort. OP, I certainly hope this works out in your favor and can certainly understand how frustrated you must feel.
This could be resolved by having each WDWTC CM stay at each resort in an "orphaned" room. Solve two problems at once! :earboy2:

And it does say "may" be recorded so they'll never tell you for sure if your call was recorded, or not.

They won't tell you, but as a trainer/qa analyst in various call centers I can assure you every single one is recorded. It's SOP in call centers. They may not be able to pull calls prior to a certain date depending on their recording software, but at some point they were stored for agent evaluation purposes.

Happy update- I received an email with the updated dates. It’s all correct, standard room, correct dates as I intended. What really shocked me is that it was a package difference of $220 dollars. What a switch to be made without telling someone. Regardless, I’m happy I caught it before it was really too late and that Disney made it right even if it left an orphan room. Thank you to everyone for your advice and input.

And this is why I won't use a TA, so I can fix it myself and know it is done correctly.
My point was that a TA (Disney specialist) would have caught any mistake and made sure res was done correct before ending booking call.

So happy things worked out for you!

You’d think Disney *employees* would be good at their jobs, and yet...
They used to be.

A TA is fine as long as you don't want to handle anything yourself. For adding days, I would just add a second reservation if at all possible.
That’s what I’ve done in the past, just added a second res. I handle everything except room booking.
I have booked myself plenty, but as my work hours increased, and being on a different time zone I found it easier to get a TA to do my booking, especially to get me discounts. I didn’t have the time before work to deal with disney long phone waits when discounts come out or crashing web sites.

I'm so glad you stayed on top of this and that they were able to resolve it so you get the room you originally wanted. That is crazy he made a switch that cost you more w/o mentioning the difference.
