Room T+T tip

HI,
Just back from our 1st DVC member stay. Have a bunch of questions to ask. I'll do one thread for each.
First question...
When DH was leaving room with suitcases apparently a mousekeeper passed him in the hall and asked him what room he was checking out of. When I was leaving with the kids, she passed me, went into the room. Then passed me again in the hall said thank you for the generous tip and took the stairs down. She had a light coat on over her uniform..so I didn't see her name. Unsure if she was our mousekeeper for the one T+T we had during our stay. There was another guy in the hall with cart/linens doing other rooms. Want to make sure the correct person got the tip.
Has this happen to anyone before?

She probably wouldn't have thanked you if she filched a tip. The fact is that lots of housekeepers work lots of rooms and the tips just sort of even out.

By the way, there have been lively discussions on this board about whether tipping is appropriate at all at DVC. I happen to think so, but some do not.
