Hello,
My family is looking to go on our first Disney cruise next March but we're not sure how many rooms we'll need. There will be me, DH, children ages 12,10,7,and 4 with grandma and grandpa coming along as well. Will 2 rooms be enough or should we go for 3? Is it better to get 2 rooms, 3 rooms or get a suite? I got a quote of $11,700 for 3 rooms. That seemed awfully high to me considering that half of the people are kids. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The suite price will be higher and they seem to book years in advance. Do you feel 2 bathrooms wil be enough for that amny people? What cat room was the quote for? A lot of people do fine with 4 in a room. As long as the grandparents are okay with sharing you can manage with 2 if that price is better for you. Not that much time is spent in the room. If you had all teens I'd say 3 would work much better. Have a great time.

For those ages of kids, I think 2 rooms is fine, assuming grandparents are okay with kids in their room. If it were me, I'd put the older kids with the grandparents, since they can probably get ready on their own. I'd go with cat 10s at least for the split bathrooms (a bit more privacy). And if possible, get connecting rooms, so that if there are problems, you're right there.

The price for 3 rooms assumes full adult price for the first 2 people in the room, regardless of their ages. They would book those rooms with your dh in one, with 2 kids (one of which would be booked as an adult), you in the 2nd with two kids (also one adult, one child price), and the 3rd room with the grandparents (2 adult prices). So you're paying 6 adult fares and 2 kids fares. With two rooms, you're paying 4 adult fares, and 4 kids fares. Should be a pretty substantial price difference.

Good luck!

I think I will definitely look into the price for two rooms! Thank you for your input! Every bit of advice helps for us first timers!
