I know the Polynesian added a couple new buildings in the late 70s and again in the mid-80s. Are the rooms in these newer buildings smaller than in the original buildings? Or is it not enough to matter?

One thing I've read is that with the newer buildings, our chances of getting a balcony are better.

Thanks for your feedback.

The rooms in the new buildings are actually larger. :D With a family of five, we do notice the difference although the older rooms are spacious enough.

And yes, in Rapa Nui, Tahiti and Tokelau all rooms have either a patio or balcony.

Original building rooms are 402 sq/ft. newer buildings (Tokelau, Tahiti and Rapa Nui) rooms are 452 sq/ft. Most other deluxe rooms are in the mid 300's.

The bathrooms in Tahiti and Rapa Nui (built in 1985) have a different layout with two sinks.

And let me tell you the larger rooms really do seem BIG
Didn't realize there's that much difference in actual square footage though - thanks for the info! I think we'd notice the difference if we went to another deluxe having stayed in the larger Poly room.....now we're spoiled for sure!
