room size

Please call WDW resort reservations. Ask them for suggestions. It's 2 adults per room (anyone 18 and over). Then it is an extra charge in a room. So 4 adults maximum.
Even in the BC/YC, Poly, GF, & CR - they sleep 4 adults and 1 child in the daybed.

You can get connected rooms in the Values.
At 40% off - that would be like paying for 1 room and getting two.
2 Value rooms would give you 2 bathroomns, 400 square feet, 4 beds, 2 closet area's and more space for the kids to move about.
At $160 per night for 2 rooms with the discount it would be worth it.
Split the cost between you and your parents.

Good luck !

Forget the air matresses - use hammocks. Bring large drywall hooks to hang them from, or you can just use the sprinkler heads that stick out of the walls and ceilings.

I think you'd be better off just getting a couple cheap tents and staying at the Fort Wilderness Campground. At least then you will have more room.

i love this idea. watch gilligan's island reruns, to get ideas of how to do hammocks. if you hang them from poles like skipper and gilligan you can really save room.

I'll just restate what others have said...there is no way you are going to get a queen sized airbed in that room....even if you could move the beds. And add a pack and play to the mix? Nope, not happening. Can you just imagine what would happen if someone needed to use the bathroom in the middle of the night? Or the chaos of all those people bathing each day, with one shower and one sink? Not to mention, there wouldn't be close to enough storage room. Don't try to live out of suitcases because you aren't going to have room for them..not for 5 adults in any case.
Nope, you just are not going to be able to do it. There are people that won't put 3 in a value room, let alone 7! We use them all the time but it's usually just 3 of us, most often it's 2.

I would suggest either getting multiple rooms or one of the AllStar Family suites. I realize that will increase your room budget but it's about the only thing you can do....4 adults and a baby are about all you can fit in a value room, and that's going to be very cramped!! Those are only double beds in there!!

Thanks everyone. The only reason we are all staying in one room is because we will only be in the room to sleep. We figured it would be cheaper this way since we won't be using the room much. My son,who will be 3 when we go, rarely takes naps (you have to force him) and the baby can sleep in the stroller. My mom got an offer for 40% off on value resort rooms, so that's why I'm interested in whether we can all fit in one room at a value resort.

I haven't read all the responses; forgive me if I repeat.

BY now you've figured out that the fire codes are pretty specific about the number of people in one room.

But I got the 40% off PIN code as well. The CMs I spoke to said I could book up to 3 rooms with the code. (As it turns out, none of my siblings could go during our dates, and my friend had a code of her own!)

But look into booking 2 rooms with your mom's code!

Good luck!

We are getting 3 rooms. My cousin's family is in one room and my husband's parents will be in the other if they are able to go, depending if my father-in-law can walk yet. The rest of us wanted to stay in one room, because none of us wanted to be in the same room as my in-laws. I just wanted to find out if the room would be big enough for us all to fit in or if my husband and I would have to volunteer to share a room with my in-laws. The last time I stayed at an all-star resort was 6 yrs ago and I don't remember how big the rooms were because we only used them to sleep in. So it looks as though I'm going to have to suck it up and deal with sharing a room with my in-laws.

If it were me (and I know it's not me...but anyway), I'd put my DH in the room with the in-laws (as they are his parents) and put your 3yo son in there with him. I'd leave you, your sis and the baby in the 2nd room with your parents. If the in-laws decide not to come along, y'all really should keep that 2nd room anyway and have your parents and sister stay in it.

Our family of 4 (DH, me, DD13 and DD7) is going to a value for the first time ever in October and I am already freaking out just about daily regarding the lack of space for the 4 of us. I can't imagine putting 3 more adults plus baby gear in one of those rooms. :scared1:

We wouldn't really want to stay in a room with DH's parents though--I do understand that. Fortunately, you'll be at the parks most of the time!

So, you wanted to put 7 people in a value room because you were THAT desperate to avoid you're in-laws?... Wait a minute... That actually makes perfect sense. Yeah, I could see that. ;)

My husband and I, my parents, my sister, my 3 yr old, and my 10 month old will all be in one room.
No, you won't. Disney will not allow you to reserve that many people in one room, and if you have unreserved Guests in your room Disney will evict you immediately.

Okay, who thinks this thread was a joke by the OP hoping to get a rise out of people?

Sorry but the 3 yr old counts towards room occupancy. So they can't get a king sized room for the two of them AND the 3 yr old. Maybe the two of them and the 10 month old baby.

You have too many people for a value room. The seven of you could fit in a Family Suite which sleeps 6, plus one under the age of three. If the inlaws come along too, you wouldn't fit in Family Suite because you would have 8 plus one under the age of three.
Maybe they could put the three year old on the in-laws reservation?:confused3

It's her 4th post. I think she was asking an honest question: is the occupancy number a rule that's written in stone, or is there some wiggle room?

There are a number of rules out there in the real world that aren't enforced strictly (say, speed limits, or starting times for school assemblies-- in my kids' school at least!) I think that we sometimes forget that not everyone has the same familiarity with Disney rules and customs as those who go every year.

And the only way a newbie would learn is by asking.

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter if you are only in the room to sleep. According to Disney's rules you can't all be in one room.

Okay, who thinks this thread was a joke by the OP hoping to get a rise out of people?

I worked at a hotel in Daytona Beach during spring break. You can't imagine how many high school kids will fit inside a small room.

If I was going to try and get a rise out of people on this board, I'd ask the following questions:

1. Is there any secret entrance to the MK where I can sneak in without paying? Can our family hide out overnight at Tom Sawyer's Island and be the first in line at Space Mountain the next day?

2. My 6 year old is really short and I am going to shove him into a stroller and pass him off as under 3 so I don't have to buy a ticket. Will they try to check his age?

3. Also, due to his heart condition, he is shorter than most kids. He is 2 inches too short to go on Mission Space. How many park maps must I put inside his shoes to make him the right height?

4. The MK reminds me of my local fireman's fair. I've heard that US/IOA is soooo much better. Any comments?

To the OP, you can use the 40% on any room, not just the values. Why don't you try the cabins at FW. They have sleeping for at least 6 and plenty of room for an air mattress. I'm sure with the 40%, it will be cheaper than 3 rooms at POP and crowded quarters. Also, there is a full sized kitchen for the little one's snacks and nightly campfire sing-a-longs. We stayed at Pop with 2 adults and 2 kids and got 2 rooms. The beds are not queen, they are double and too small for 2 adults and a child.

If I had to go to Disney with my In-Laws I would be trying to find a way not to share a room with them too...I think I would pay full price for my room (a 4th room in the OP's case) just to avoid the in-laws.

Also- anywhere else (ie: not disney) I would stuff everyone into one room and not worry about it, but with tiny size of the value rooms, the issue of magical express, tickets, early admission hours, and all the other problems that this could cause it would not be worth it.

I would be worried about getting "caught" and having it ruin my vacation (heck the worry would ruin it for me!) Plus...that many adults trying to take bathroom time in the morning...plus the kids....it would be noon before anyone got to the parks.

Grab another room...it will pay for itself in time saved and stress avoided. (even if the 40% code doesn't apply to a 4th room...which I would at least ask about!)

Can you imagine the Mousekeeper who would walk into that room? If she could even manage to walk in! I think the first thing she'd do is report the situation.

Seriously, if you're concerned about cost, stay offsite. Last April, when we visited Sea World, I was able to Priceline our hotel room. We got a Comfort Suites room that had two doubles and a sofa bed for $30/night.
