I know this might sound strange but...here goes. What time does room service start on the day you board the ship. DH wants to take full advantage of this offering. Thanks.

We called room service around 3pm for a case of water and it was brought up around 3:15 the day we boarded.

A case of water????

What exactly is that?

Thanks :)

I forget if it was 18 or 24 bottles but it was a case of bottles of drinking water. We drink a lot of water and really don't like tap water so it was water for the room for the week. I think it was 24 bottles though...it was 30.00 for the case and it was sure easier than lugging a case of water on with us!

That's pretty cool. I don't remember seeing anything about that. Thanks for the info!!! :)

Good tasting, cold, filtered water is always available at the drink station on Deck 9. You can bring a few bottles on with you and refil them whenever you like for free at the drink station.

other than the case of water, isn't room service free? no matter what you order?

Room service was available at around 3:00pm on the day we boarded. As for the water...I am a water SNOB!!! I only drink bottled water, and I found the ship board water to be great!!! The water on deck 9 by the pools was awesome!!!

Water, soda, and alcohol drinks are not free from room service. Tea, coffee, milk (reg., skim, low fat and chocolate are all available). Our ritual every day was to order an All Hands on Deck (cheese, crackers, grapes, walnuts..YUMM!!!!) in the afternoon and a plate of cookies and milk for the kids at night. If you want coffee and/or tea as soon as you wake up in the morning, order the SILVER carafe before going to bed and it will be still very hot in the morning.

Every time we ordered something we were told it would be about 20-30 minutes. The longest we waited was 15. :) I miss my room service already!!!

And don't forget to tip!! We tipped $2 for small trays and $5 one night when we ordered lunches for everyone.

another option....bring a few bottles of water on the ship with you and refill them at the drink station (it tasted better to me than the Evian they sell on the ship. Evian tastes greasy to me.) OR you can order a six pack of water for $7.50 from room service and fill those bottles up when you're done. :)

We also ordered a bowl a fruit a few times just to have it in the room for when my daughter got hungry between meals. It was nicer to be able to give her fruit too instead of cookies all the time, though we did get those before bed every night!

coleland, yep the food is free from room service , if you go on to either daves site / barbs castawayclub . com site i believe there are example menus from room service

What about alcohol? If I want a Bahama Mamma on my verandah with my cheese platter, can I get one?

:drinking1

coleland - candy snacks are not free, such as candy bars, m&m's, popcorn, stuff you might get for a movie etc. They are charged for.

Bahama Mama's can be had from room service.... drink up!

sure you can....but alcohol is not free from room service.

I enjoyed using room service and liked the selection. Pizza, Cheesburgers ,sanwiches, fruit, cheese& crackers, cookies, dessert of the day, chicken fingers, as well as other things. Yes all of this is free. Just remember to tip them. I also ordered coffee and iced tea for free,

Teri

Thanks for all the info. DH is counting down the minutes until he can snack on the verandah.
