Room Service tips - post Covid

I seldom order room service but with post Covid cruising, I might do it more. I was thinking $3 for a couple of sandwiches would be OK but now I am thinking maybe $5 is more the norm? Any thoughts? Would not be a lot of food, just two of us. I tip more during Covid and maybe I should on the ship, assuming it sails . . . .

I think $3 is reasonable for something light and easy to carry. $5 is a bit more generous but they'll be satisfied to get the $3, since some jerks don't tip at all.

Just hope that they actually do offer room service. Most Disney resorts aren't offering it, currently, and I worry that might be one of the cutback items once cruising resumes.

I tip $5 minimum on room service, sometimes $10 if its a large order for all of us in the room.
I bring about $100 in 5's for tipping room service and porters.
There's a special place in he&& for ppl that don't tip room service. or don't tip in general on cruises.

We generally tip $1 per item on DCL. I read that suggestion somewhere before our first cruise, and we have been going with that. My teenage daughter has a big stack of ones that she keeps handy for her nightly Mickey Bars and warm cookies.

If they are serious about social distancing in the restaurants, they could actually encourage room service to help keep the number of people down in the dining rooms. It's not like they can expand them to spread people out.

That being said, I thought for sure that Disney would expand the FastPass program to eliminate long standby line in the COVID era, and Disney did the exact opposite.

You can always add the gratuity to the charge slip that they include (even when there is no actual extra charge). It will then appear on your final bill at the end of the cruise.

A solution to MDR crowding could also be to promote the dinner service at Cabanas a bit better. Maybe DCL could finally offer "my time dining" like other cruise lines, and have Cabanas as the designated restaurant for guests that opt to do that, since that's what it unofficially is already.
