We have a diabetic in our family and need to watch carbs, we could go to the Islands dining room everymorning (for the protiens-eggs and fiber--a little fruit), or does RPR have room service for breakfast? I would think that would be so much easier than going to breakfast every morning or trying to find something that doesn't include a bunch of carbs. Has anyone tried the room service for breakfast? I realize that this will be quite expensive, but still if you are watching the carb intake, muffins, bagels, doughnuts, etc are just out.

all the hotels onsite have 24 hour room service.
it is very expensive i think.

contact the chef at the hotel restaurant and let him know a family member is on a diabetic diet and you don't feel you can eat what is on the breakfast buffets or menu there.

he can work with you on a special menu for the diabetic for either room service or at the onsite restaurants.
it is no extra charge for the special foods if you are dining at the hotel restaurants.

try to avoid room service unless you feel forced to.
i have seen the room service menus and costs.
very high...

you can also get information on the park dining places for a special diet. ask the chef you talk with about it.

I think the price for regular breakfast for room service is $19.00, this includes 2 eggs, potatos, bread, and choise of meat. Then you need tip which is included and I think one other fee I cannot remember. There are other items thats just the one I remember since thats a basic full breakfast. No I did not order this, way to expensive, just looked at the order for one trip.:thumbsup2

When we do room service breakfast we always order the kid's meal breakfasts. They are much cheaper.

Here's a link to menus for you.

Damo, that site you linked has a pop up spam for a fake antivirus scan just to let you know.:)

Nevermind its popup adds not spyware, just checked it again.

Thanks for the info, it does sound quite expensive, unless we all order from the kids menu, but still... all the tips and surcharges!

I've read that Jakes bar has the breakfast with the carby stuff, do you think if I called them they could at least have a few boiled eggs and maybe some whole wheat toast? We could do that Island's dining room, but since I'm one of those people that want to be at the parks at 8:30, we'd have to get up pretty early to get ready, go to the restaurant, then be at the gates at 8:30.

Being diabetic in a carb world can be hard! :sad2:

On A cheaper note, the Orchid Lounge has a conntinenel(sp)breakfast with plenty of fruit and juices!!!

I had that pop up spam antivirus thing once. I shut down so fast but my virus protection didn't let anything happen. Scared the crap out of me.

I'm not sure if it is Jake's that has the breakfast buffet. I think it is the Islands Restaurant. You could probably inquire there. I've seen lots of people doing pick up. They are especially nice about filling baby bottles and heating them up in the evenings, so they seem very helpful for personal service.
