I'd like to stay in a specific building for our stay at AoA next month. I already did online check-in, but I was unable to make that request. Does the front desk accept room requests over the phone?

Thanks in advance!

There's a fax number to send in room requests to, Touring plans also send out an automated room request if you set it up and pick your room.

AoA's fax number is (407) 938-7070.

I found this even though I've never tried it this way:
"A third way to add a room request to your reservation is to call Disney at 407-W-DISNEY.

You will have to go through a series of questions before you talk to a person, which I find pretty annoying. When you finally speak with a cast member, be ready with your resort confirmation number. He or she will use this to pull up your reservation and add your requests. "

We always use that fax request thing from TP - not sure if it really makes a difference because we've never landed in what we've asked for. I figure out where we want (building, floor, etc.) to stay and when we arrive at the resort, spend about 10-15 minutes with a CM to get closer to what we wanted.

How would I do this with Touring Plans? Would I join and then put in a request for them to take care of it?
You sign up for Touring plans, add your trip plan dates with your hotel info, then click the "request room" button on the trip page, that sends you to their room finder to identify which unit you want - it gives you an option to pick it (has a map you can select floors or categories). And it will send it automatically.

We have had great success using TP, probably due to luck more than anything else ;) , but I have found it worth my while to use them. They have a nice tool for researching room views as well.

They can put the request on your reservation by calling or chatting with them. Also, you can call the front desk and they will add it or confirm that it’s on your reservation. I would physically check in ASAP on your arrival day. It’s basically first come first serve, so if you have the same request as other that are checking in, the people before you will get it first.

If you try to “call the front desk” you will reach someone at an offsite call center, even though they will answer with the hotel name and lead you to believe they are actually at the front desk of the resort.

I renewed my subscription to TP and was able to select the room that I want, but I have two rooms under two different reservations numbers. Am I able to add another reservation with TP and select another room? I looked for it, but haven't found it.

You have to create two separate trip plans if you have different hotel rooms, we have to go through that with split stays all the time breaking up the stays by hotel time.

It doesn't allow 2 reservations, if I were doing it I would put your reservation in the room finder and add the other one in the additional notes field.

I was told by a cast member a few years ago to call the front desk the day prior to arrival, even when you’ve already made the request. Another option, if you bypass online check in, and do so at the front desk, they’re usually really good about getting you what you want if at all possible. I did that once after checking in online as they hadn’t given me the first floor requested. It took a little while between waiting in line, and them changing the room, but I walked away satisfied.

They assign the rooms days before you arrive. If you dial the hotel number, you reach an off campus call center. The best thing is to either put your room request in if you make your reservation by phone, or call the main number a few weeks before arriving and reqesting they put your room request on your reservation.

I call the switchboard number, and have them connect me to the front desk. Occasionally the operator wants to help you themselves, but I usually run in to that when trying to reach restaurants directly.

They will never, ever, ever connect you to the front desk at the resorts anymore. I don't even know if the resorts still have resort specific phone numbers anymore but over a decade ago they decided to start routing everybody to the call center. If you called the Saratoga Springs resort front desk you were automatically routed you to the call center. If you got the completely different number for the Grand Floridian and called that it still routed you to that same call center. They just know what number you were trying to dial and they would answer it that way. I had several CM's try to tell me that they were actually there at the resort when they're not. They were at the call center. I'm not even sure you can dial those old numbers anymore. They're never going to transfer you to the front desk.

Will I be able to check in early on the MDE App with Online Check-In but still call up WDW Reservations a week or two before the arrival date to make a room request?

I'm assuming that it won't make any real difference, but I want to be sure that doing so doesn't mess anything up.

Yes, you can do that with no issues. During online check-in, don’t mess with the section that says room requests - just leave that part alone.
