I've made my request via touring plans for which room we'd like. Do I also do any request when I do online checkin? If I request same room during online checkin will it mess up the system?

I don't think it messes anything up, as long as you make the same requests. I did both for my last trip, and ended up with a room only a few doors down from the one I requested.

I've done both the last 2-3 trips with seemingly no negative impact. So long as the online options are the same or very close to my requests, I'm OK with it. If the online requests don't line up, I just ignore them.
