room requests?

How do they decide who gets the room requests they want??
Is it random or when you show up or what??

Sometimes when we check in, there seems to be a number of rooms that match our request (usually only non-smoking, but with a group "nearby"...so we may be asked, for instance, "Did you like the room you had the last time you stayed." This was at the BWV, and we said "yes" so that's the one that we did get. It was not ready at the time of check in, but when we called from a park around 2 it was.

We've never been asked anything of the sort at VWL...rooms there for us have not been ready until closer to 4PM. We've arrived a bit after 4 one time and got a HA room at VWL.

We have requested "nearby villas" at BWV and have gotten them, at VWL we have not. At VWL we were on different floors, 3 of them, and different areas all together each time.

At OKW I do ask for elevator building or first floor and we've always gotten that. Sometimes again, more than one villa is available, and usually the CM says, "I think you'll like this one." We always have!

I think DVC went to "room ready" and not necessarily assigned rooms.

Maybe some people who do ask for specific views can help you more.
