room requests with VH.

Is it possible to request a room booked with VH, I am booked at POR and I would like a top floor room in the mansions. is it possible to request with VH or should I contact POR directly the week before we go?

Hi,

Personally I would contact POR , but I don't think you would be able to guarantee your room preference until you arrive.

I suspect contacting Virgin would be a waste of time to be perfectly blunt.
They may be able to put some sort of note on the booking request but I am not sure it would affect anything.

We are staying at POR and I read loads of threads on here before Phoning virgin and asking them to put a special request on our booking.I asked for High floor in mansions non smoking(which obviously won't apply due to the new ban on smoking in WDW resort hotels)-didn't specify a building as if you ask to much you will probably not get. I am also going to give the hotel a call or fax just requesting the same 3 days before we go and if they are ok my ask for either magnolia terrace or oak manor but Im not too fussed on the building.Obviously it is not guarenteed but you can always ask at reception if they have rooms in the mansions if you are put in AB.

On my last trip I stayed at ASM and and through VH requested the Fantasia Building (which is one of the preferred blocks). Upon arrival I was given a room as per my request with no extra charge. I dont think there is any harm in trying to get the room you want as long as you are aware that this cannot be guarantted. I would contact both VH and Disney. Good luck.

Did you pay for a preferred room? If so, this is probably why your request for a particular building was honoured.

I have to be honest and say that, after 2 trips with VH and 1 with Airtours, we have requested particular areas/buildings/rooms/floor levels etc. each time and have never had our request honoured (with the exception of last year, when we asked at check in and they gave us a different room). If it is really that important to you, don't rely on VH putting it on the booking, contact POR a few days before and make your request then. Even then, if your request isn't honoured, it probably wouldn't hurt to ask at check in also.

When I wanted rooms in a particular building, I emailed VH with my request after I'd booked and then faxed the GF about 3 weeks prior to our arrival - it worked fine...

I always book with VH and I always email the reservations department to note my room requests. They have always been more than happy to do this. You will see your requests on your final paper work that you hand over upon checkin...In all the times we've stayed at WL and GF we've been given our requests.

I even requested a corner room at the GF once as those rooms are larger and have 2 balconies and we were actually given one when we checked in, so i think that they do communicate your requests to the resort
