room requests & upgrades

hi all. what is the best way to make a room request at disney resorts? for example, my husband & i will be staying at saratoga springs for our 2nd wedding anniversary. i want a romantic room like on a higher floor with a view of downtown disney. also, has anyone ever been upgraded while using their points? thanks!!!

Upgrades at DVC are almost unheard of, and are usually done only if the reserved room type goes out of service and will not be available for some reason.

Otherwise, just request upper floor, downtown disney view and your smoking preference then hope for the best, because they are (like all requests) only requests.

Another important note is to make the request at the time the reservation is made. Calling the room comptroler wont do it. In fact, we were asked NOT to do that in a VM awhile back.
