Room requests protocol?

I'm of the old days of Disney when you could just fax your request. I was lucky to get a lot of my requests.

I understand that that isn't the way it's done anymore. Someone please fill me in on the best way to make a request.

The VERY best way is to request at the time of reservation. I have never faxed, called the front desk, or write them any letter. I just simply let them know my request at the time when I book my resort. Most if not, all my request are met. Just remember.. they are only request and not guarantee unless it is a health issue (requesting first floor or non-smoking or handicap room).
