Room requests help please...

Staying at POP in July. We paid for a preferred room. The kids like to be in the action of the main area. A couple of questions include, we'd really like to be on the first floor, and we'd really like to stay pool side. When do we make our requests and how (phone call, fax, email). Is this something you do at check in or before? Is pool side and first floor too much to ask for?

No, that's not too many requests at all. I think you would have a pretty good chance of getting what you're asking for.

You can add requests to your reservation at any time after you make the reservation (I always do it in the same phone call). There's no need to wait. Just call CRO and tell them what you want. The requests will be stored with your reservation, and downloaded to the resort shortly before your trip.
