Here's my sad, pathetic story: Had the Port Orleans - Riverside booked at $89/night. Then we moved into our new house, and during the process I lost my reservation information and forgot to send in the deposite. (I know, I'm an idiot) :( It was due yesterday and I didn't realize that I had forgotten it until last night at about 9:30 eastern time ( CRO offices closed). I called first thing this morning at 7:00 am eastern time (right after I got my Cindy's breakfast ressies :) ) to try and give my deposite and the CM said it was too late and there were no more AP rates at PO available. :( I called three more times during the day and got the same response. I have a family of 5 so this was the only resort that would could afford to stay at on site. So . . . later in the day I felt like gambling and decided to try Priceline - thinking I wouldn't get anything for the price I was putting in anyway. Well, lo and behold, my price did take and I ended up with Wyndham Palace. I knew the Hilton was booked during my stay as well as the Swan and Dolphin, I was just hoping to get the Marriott or Gaylord Palms. I should have known with my luck I get the least wanted pick! Anyway, to end my long story, I need help with a room request. From posts that I've read it sounds like some areas of the hotel may be better than others. Any words of encouragement or suggestions are greatly appreciated. :)

I stayed at the Wyndham Palace last September and absolutely loved the facilities and the location. That trip was my first one off site and it was very nice.

For me it was between the wp and a moderate. I'm glad I saved some money and stayed at the palace.

I requested a view of downtown disney in a tower room by email. I couldn't have gotten a better room. 26th floor with a unbelievable view of downtown disney and epcot. Another great perk of the palace is it is only around a 200 yard walk to get to downtown disney. I think you'll really enjoy your stay at the palace. It's definitely a 4 star+ resort. The only real drawback is the extra $8 they charge a day and the lack of good parking close to your room.

I stayed there through PL about 1 1/2 years ago and stayed in one of the rooms on the other side of the pool (not the main tower). I thought I would rather be near the pool so I had requested this. It was very nice! Out of curiosity I did ask to see a room in the tower and in my opinion it wasn't nearly as nice. It looked much older and the furnishings, bedspreads, carpet, etc. were worn. I was glad I choose the other room even though it's a bit of a walk to get to it.
