Room Requests at GF Villas

Hi! I'm about to do online check in for our 2 bedroom villa - standard view. Has anyone ever been upgraded? Are there really any "view" upgrades, or all they all pretty much the same? Does anyone have any recommendations as far as what floor to request? I've stayed at the GF before, but not in the villas. Thank you!

The next category is Lake View. We had a studio LV and it was great, but we did book that category! Getting villa upgrades is pretty rare since they are based on points being deducted from the owner's account. The lake view does have an amazing view of the water pageant and space mountain, though!

Since the GFV are almost always completely sold out nightly you are not likely to get a point upgrade even if you booked cash (since there is a difference in points you would not get one if you booked through DVC without paying for it with points).

Standard views can be of the monorail and front area or of the gardens on the side of the building. There are some standard views that are basically roof views of the corner of the building. I don't know that floor requests help with those things- I prefer an upper floor but you still have the chance of a bad view on an upper floor if you happen to be placed in a corner. Again with studios completely sold out nightly it is highly unlikely you will be able to switch villas if ou are unhappy with your view and all the views described above are considered standard view.
