Just to be clear, TP is now an email and not a fax.
While you “select” a specific room to request, the first line will have something like “SE Facing View: 3514, 3515, 3516...” which is in room assigner-speak so that they know the general area.
As has been said, you can use the box to add details. Generally it is best to limit the specifics to no more than 3, avoid negatives (don’t use “no” or “not” as that little word is often unintentionally overlooked as the assigners are working quickly), and most importantly put them in a priority order so that the assigner knows what is most important. Also make sure you are requesting a room in the category you have booked.
As an example, when I stayed at Sports, my list read:
I would like to request (in this order):
1 - Surfs Up section (I had booked preferred, so this was cool)
2 - Top Floor
3 - Corner room
In that case I ended up with the first two and one down from a corner.
The time I stayed at French Quarter, it was similar with a building number, top floor, and a corner room - I only got the corner room.
The priority list would enable them to check for the first request first, then see if any meet the second also, and so forth. If the first request cannot be met, they would then check the second. And so forth.
But regardless, requests are just that. No guarantees.
