I know this has been covered many times but my search is yielding 0 results. Can someone relay how to request a room location, or point me in the right direction to find the answer? And I do know that it is only that - a request with no guarantees made. Going in 13 days and can't wait! Thanks!

Call Member Services and have them note it in your reservation. I believe you can also use the chat feature on the website.
 
Easiest - Call member services and they’ll add it to your reservation.
 
really that's it? I thought I had read somewhere previously to e-mail but I couldn't remember if it was Member Services or the resort directly. Thanks.
 

I email my room request. I just use the Contact Us link on the Members' Website.

You can email via the link under Contact Us on the Member website, chat via the website link, or call. I like email because of the electronic “paper trail” but chat & calling work equally well!
 
thanks so much! Any idea how long before arrival I should do this? Would it be better to wait till closer to arrival? We will be arriving Oct. 13. We have never requested anything in particular but this time we will be traveling with my 10 month old grandson and all the paraphernalia that goes with a baby so I was considering requesting a room in a bldg with an elevator at OKW
 
You may do better with a ground floor request, the elevator buildings tend to go to those with medical reasons.

Just have it noted before a week out. I believe they start assigning rooms a week before arrival. Add your request now, there is no benefit to waiting.
 
We submit our requests as soon as possible. For common requests (such as ground floor at OKW), when they don’t have enough availability to make everyone happy, they might fill requests in order that they received them.
 
DVC has asked members and their guests not to bother faxing the resort because they tend to just toss them in the trash.
Via Touring Plans? I did it in March with them and it worked way better than whenever I put in request via MS. And you cannot do it via online check in anymore as the system seems to have blocked the choices.

Good to know, as we have used touring plans. When did they send out the notification, because I odn't recall ever seeing it.
 
well I emailed member services just now. See what happens. It's all good cause....I'm going to Disneyworld!
 
We called MS about 5 days prior to going down. We got our request initially. Online check in was not working for a week or so before we arrived. So when we checked in they could not tell us our room number but could tell us the building #. Then several hours later we get the text that room is ready, only problem was it was in a different building. We went back to see what happened, apparently another cast member changed our room, since it was not ready yet. We asked if our first assignment room was still available and they said yes and it was currently being cleaned. So they gave it back to us. It was not ready till after 4 pm but that was no problem. Would rather wait a little to get the room requested. Have a good time.

first time out of last 10 I didnt get email from TP reminding me soon the request would soon be be sent. Did have one selected to be faxed

Didn’t get the room near elevator I prefer but at least got an upper floor facing the lake with lovely view!

In July got the exact room I selected via TP for BWV. Happy indeed.

I’d say TO has come thru inarea of 30% with nearly the exact room I’ve requested over last 2 years. This year in particular things working out well.
