Have a 12 night stay in September for my anniversary. Our first 2 nights are at BLT studio theme park view. Then the rest at VGF. How far in advance should I put in for a room request at BLT? I want a high floor room. So I can get a good view of the park.

Today
Call or e-mail MS with your request. Remember it is only a request.

I don't think the date you put your request in factors into if you get it. It used to be requests were prioritized by the date of the reservation but not anymore.

I have talked to some room assigners that still assign based on request date.

There doesn't seem to be a set policy, some CM's tell me that they really care, others just want to get the job done.

Thank you for all your input everyone. I will be sending MS when I get home after work. Then just hope for the highest floor.

After our 2 nights at BLT we move to VGF. After we check out of BLT can we just go over to VGF & drop our bags off til our room is ready? What's the best plan?

I put our room requests in 3 months before our trip and when none of them came through. I was told by the front desk that rooms are assigned based on occupancy and arrival/departure dates, so in other words requests are not really taken into consideration that much. This is the third trip I have put in room requests that were not met and I have stayed at the same resort at least 20 times. I would think loyalty would count for something, but I guess not. Trying a new one next time.

I agree. I don't think they even look at room requests, it seems to be random and a complete waste of time...

I stayed at BLT lake view last year, in fact a year ago this weekend. I e-mailed member services with a request for even number room, north side about a month before. Got it, great view of MK. So it can happen.

I was told by member services to call the hotel 7 days prior to arrival and make sure your requests are in and prioritize them. The rooms are assigned 7 days out and are very rarely changed after that.
