Room request option is back!

Worked for me too today, although I wish it gave an option for "near pool" for Kidani, we only had option of upper floor, highest floor, near bus, near lobby. Either way, I'm sure we'll have a great time!

Yeah, I’ve never stayed at BC before but the options were quite limited, no “near elevator” or “near lobby” which I would normally request.

I just type in what’s not there in the part that says .. other family or rooms ..
we ve always been lucky.
Usually It’s that I want near main lobby.
So I just say .. near lobby Pls
It used to fit

Whatever you do - call, use Touring Plans fax service, etc. - it's best to use positive requests. Don't say "Not near an elevator" or "No connecting door" because it's far too easy for the assigner to overlook the "not" or "no".

Also, if you have more than one request, it's best to state which is the highest priority. If you have multiple requests without you prioritizing them, the assigner doesn't know which is most important, so you may get your lowest priority or none at all. Example: Lest February I stayed at Sports. My requests were phrased as "I would like to request: 1st priority - Surf's Up section; 2nd Priority - top floor; 3rd priority - corner room." That way the assigner knew to start with seeing if there was anything in Surf's Up; when there was s/he could look for top floor; when there was s/he could look for a corner room. I got the first two and was 2 doors down from a corner. Practically perfect. (Had there not been anything in Surf's Up, s/he would likely have gone to see if there was a top floor in the other preferred section.)

Also, if you are arriving early, you can designate on the WDW request page if getting in a room early is a higher priority than your requests. I also include that on my Touring Plans fax - either that I'd rather have a room early even if that doesn't meet my requests or I'm fine with storing luggage and waiting if it means I'll get one or more of my requests.

The real test is to see if it sticks or if after you save it and log out and then log back in and go to online check in are the things you selected still there.

The items you see on the list are not your only options for requests. They’re just random data that may or may not pertain to your resort. You can request whatever you like by calling the reservation phone line.

We rented DVC points so would the member have to make that request? (I think that's what we were told, I'd have to go back and review the email). We'll be happy either way, was just hoping it would have been an option!!

I'll have to look again, I don't remember seeing anywhere to input anything - but it's completely possible I missed it! Thanks!

Yes. If you rented DVC Points, the Member has to call in requests to Member Services

I have a visit coming up in March and I'd like to make some requests. I've looked everywhere I can think of on MDE and can't find where to put in my requests. Where do I find this?

How do I look for room requests drop down on my Disney experience reservations? I can't seem to find them.

MDE web page --> My Disney Experience (Right side under search) -->My Plans --> Update Resort Hotel Checkin -->Show Details drop down -->Room Location Request click Edit

Ok so that's my question. Why "check in" early? My trip is not until summer, so I did not check in. My main concern is if I "check in" does that change my cancellation policy? What is the advantage of checking in MONTHS before your trip?

So I assume then that you have to check in before selecting reservation requests? That's why I don't see it then.

We've been doing mostly DVC the last few stays so I havent used the web based room request since November 2017. Back then if I recall you couldn't do the request until 30 days out? The menu was there but the drop downs were blank. No idea if its like that now that its "back". Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me can reply.
