Room request made thru MS website question?

Does anyone know if you make a 5 night room request via MS on-line, do they check availability as of your checkout date or on a daily basis. If so, if I am trying to get a 7 month reservation during a popular time, should I make day by day requests?

I've always been under the impression that a 'block' reservation uses the check-out date. I did do the 'on-line' request once...but since it's not an immediate transaction I'd much rather talk to a nice human being in MS.

The common wisdom I've learned here is to do daily reservations at exactly 7 months out if you're at all concerned about getting exactly what you want.

Call them on the first day and find out what availability is. if they have plenty of what you are looking for, then you probably don't need to do things day by day. If availability is limited, then do it day by day.

If you do things day by day, tell them that you'll be calling back to extend the reservation the next day, this way they can skip the printing of the confirmation until your last day.
