Is it possible to request a room area? I just looked at the WL thread and pictures from the balcony of many of the rooms. I loved the views from room 5073, 6031 and 6149. Is it possible to call and request rooms in this general vacinity? I did say I wanted my courtyard view to allow us to see the lake, but I want to be sure we get a great view like the ones I've seen. It's our 20th anniversary so I want it to be special. We will be checking in at 7:30am on Feb 25th. Will checking in early give us a better shot at the type of room we would like?

HELP!

I know this seems silly, but our room location means alot to me, it can really make the vacation "extra-special" when it's a good view and locale. When we stayed last year at POFQ we had a great corner room on a first floor, just steps from the food court and we loved it. I want our 20th anniversary and our first "deluxe" stay, to be very special....

From my experience of one trip to the WL (so far) and from reading other people's posts, it seems the WL goes out of its way to honor special requests on room locations. The more specific you can be in what you want, the better (I would think). Also, the earlier you arrive the better chance you can receive a different location, if the room you get is not what you were hoping for. Nothing is guaranteed with room requests, but I think you have a good shot at being in the location you ask for.

Those rooms are all inner courtyard rooms, but in different areas. If the courtyard is shaped like a big "u" (with the open end facing the lake), those rooms are on the inside with one room on each section. So, you would be very happy with Inner Courtyard, highest floor possible. The higher the floor the less noise and the better the view.

We've stayed at WL twice, both times on the inner courtyard: one time on the North Wing and one on the South. They were both great.

While researching the WL for our last trip, someone here mentioned a room number with an amazing view of MK, so you would be able to see the fireworks.

I new CRO took note of requests so I figured I'd give it a try. The woman kind of laughed that I was requesting a specific room number and not just an area. She commented on how I must have been doin a lot of planning.

But lo and behold, we arrive at WL and we are in that EXACT ROOM! I was thrilled. There is definetly no harm in asking.

(BTW it was room 7048 :) )

Both times we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge we had a courtyard view. The first time we were on the side that looked toward the Magic Kingdom from our balcony, if that makes sense. In fact, one night about midnight we could barely see some fireworks going off over the trees. We were on the 5th floor.

The next year we requested the same area, but when they gave us our room, it overlooked the courtyard and the lobby. It was basically right in the middle, not down one of the "U"s. It was okay, but there was a huge tree right outside the balcony that blocked everything. I requested another room down one of the "U"s and got it. We were about the 4th room from the end. Yes, it was a long walk, but that's okay. We had a great view of the pool, guyser, and could watch the electric water parade.

You can certainly request them but alot of things have to happen to get them.

One make sure you list your requests with CRO, Willderness Lodge does not take requests by phone or fax anymore. Many resorts are also doing the same thing, just have not made an official announcement concerning faxes as Wilderness Lodge did.

Make sure the room numbers match your booked view, as in Woods view, courtyard view. Also realize even then those rooms have to be empty on the day you are checking in.

Just remember requests are never a guarantee and please do not let this ruin your trip. They will try their best to please but everyone can't have the same rooms. :)

I thought the top floor of the WL has enclosed balconies
I believe we were in 5124 or there abouts

We were in 6039 looked sraight out onto the main pool, geyser and Bay lake. We had a regular balcony, not fully enclosed. I have a pic if you're interested

That tree is now gone. Hurricane victim.

We recently stayed on the 5th floor in room 5127. It was an exceptional inner-courtyard view looking directly out at Bay Lake and the pool below. We were not located on either of the "wings" of the general "U' shaped Lodge, but rather at the bottom of the "U". This provided a better perspective than just looking at another wing which would have been directly accross.

Although we did not have a view that allowed us to see the Wishes nighttime spectacular fireworks at the Magic Kingdom (Wishes is better enjoyed while at the Magic Kingdom), we did see the Electrical Light Pageant parade on Bay Lake at 9:35 PM each night.

Wilderness Lodge staff had explained that rooms are typically not assigned until your day of arrival, based an availability. I don't believe that you can request a specific room, but before you arrive, I suggest that you request a inner-courtyard room in the general area of 5127, or one that looks directly out to Bay Lake.

Also remember that check-in is not until 3:00 PM. While the staff at Wilderness Lodge will try their best to accomodate your early check-in, your luggage will probably be the only thing checking-in at 7:30 AM. If your room is not available that early, you may try checking back by 11:00 AM, when most people have checked-out. Enjoy your honeymoon!
