Room request for standard room

We have stayed at the RP twice before, both times had poolview rooms with great views. This year, I decided to save a couple of dollars and go with the standard room. Any recommendation for a standard room with a nice view of the parks? Also, we are Loews members, what are the chances of recieving an upgrade to poolview room?

The upgrade kind of depends on when you are going and what day of the week. I was offered a pool view upgrade 2 weeks ago but opted for the 7th floor of Tower 1 park view. We had 1729 and it was my favorite room in our 5 stays. We have stayed in all 3 Towers and I think 1 is the best. I didn't like 3 at all.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will keep this in mind for our Aug. stay. Was this room facing along the lake/walkway to Citywalk? We've stayed in Tower 1 also on both of our previous stays and I like it here as well.

Go ahead and ask for pool view and then also ask for park view. They are pretty good at granting requests at RP. Your luck is good to get it unless it is a very busy time.

Yes 1729 was facing the entrance bridge to RPR with a good view of the water taxi. You could see the Hulk from bed. Dudley Do-Right to Citywalk with the IOA lighthouse about in the middle. You could see the bridge from CityWalk to IOA. We had binoculars and could see HRH pretty good too. In late Aug you should be able to get any upgrade you want.
