Room Request...fax or call?

I have always faxed in my room requests a few days prior to our arrival and have been fortunate to get them most of the time. I've been reading that the fax requests aren't being read anymore and that you should call Disney instead. Does anyone know if this is accurate? Thanks!

I think Disney has always preferred phone calls, they're a much more efficient way for requests to be handled, by their perspective. Some guests report success with faxes, so at least some of them are getting read.

Ultimately, the goal is to get your request on the reservation record. If it's there, no matter how it gets there, they will try to give you your requests.

I faxed in a request in early March this year for our trip, arriving 3 days later. We got the room I requested. I have been faxing in my own room requests for about 10 years now. At least with a fax, it gets put in front of someone in a physical form compared to a digital message.

I have always made my room reservations by phone and have indicated my room requests at that time. Sometimes I have called back a few months later (generally to pay more of my balance) and made sure the request had been accurately noted

A young room assigner has 800 guests checking in each day based on arrivals, departures, lengths of stay...
They have the information for 800 rooms available electronically...
And the added step of reading and matching zero to 800 faxes with those guests/rooms...
