Room Request at PO FQ

We have just changed our reservation from AS Music to PO FQ. I have a couple of questions regarding the room request. In the party there is DD (6), DS (2), DH and myself. We are getting 2 rooms (they are marked guarenteed connecting due to DS with medical problems).

1. We are currently booked for a standard room. Should I spend the money and upgrade to a water view? I would like to be close to the pool but is it worth the money? Also, DH is 6'5" and a king size bed would really be nice but from what I see, the only way to request a king size bed is to pay the higher price.

2. If we keep the standard room, what room or building should we request? We are not concerned about walking short distances to get to things. The only reason why I am thinking by the pool is because then when DS is napping, DD & DH can make quick trips to the pool.

Any information or suggestions on PO FQ would greatly be appreciated.

Since your DS has medical problems, you may not want to stay in a smoking optional building, which is what building 4 is--- otherwise it would have been my 1st choice for standard rooms. We stayed in building 3, which is on the other side of the main building... it was very convenient. Ask to be closer to the main building, siting DS's medical problems. The walk to the bus stop is about 2 minutes, as is the walk to the food court and pool. We were very happy with that location.
