Room Request- AKL

I have a pool view room booked at AKL for the 2nd week in June. Should I request a specific room? I've heard it can be a very long walk to the lobby/bus stop, and I have two little girls so I'm trying to avoid that. I'm also kind of worried because I've read the pool area can be very noisy.

How/when do you make room requests?

We had a 3rd floor pool view in the Zebra Trail wing a few years ago. The room was a beautiful vew of the pool and we never heard any pool noise. We would sit on the deck in the morning and drink coffee enjoying the morning sun. We are going to be there in September with a pool view room again and will request the same area. It was a short walk and elevator ride to the food court, pool, and if you need - laundry. I love this resort!! You can check in on line 10 days before you arrive or, back then, we sent a fax requesting a room close to the food court and pool. They were great about honoring it. Remember they are just requests though, no guarantee that you will get it.

We've requested near the lobby before. Our room was right over the lobby and next to the elevators...it was great!

If you want to be close to the lobby, request a standard-view room. The pool-view room won't be noisy at night so it won't interfere with sleep. Plus the room is well insulated from the outside noise. Of course, if you get a free upgrade to Savana view room, it will be a long walk, but well worth it.

We'll be there in 10 days.....can't wait for our split stay at AoA and AKL.

The pool-view rooms are all around the pool area and the elevators that go down to the laundry room and the Mara -- IMO they are not far away from the lobby. It's some of the savanna view rooms that are all the way at the ends.

Definitely ask to be close to the lobby if that is something that you really care about -- it can't hurt to ask!
