Room request - AKL Savannah View

AKL veterans, please help me with a room request for a standard, savannah view room with 2 queen beds. I am not as concerned with a definate room number as with floor, wing etc. Thanks!

Hi magic --

I recently returned from AKL and was on the third floor of the Kudu Trail guest rooms. I would recommend the second or third floor, however, because these floors allow the best and closest views of the animals (first floor is too low, fourth and fifth are too far up). Over in the Kudu Trail, we saw lots of giraffes, and had three zebras who liked to snooze under our balcony every morning! We also saw plenty of birds (cranes and ostriches), kudu, etc....

The resort is arranged in a huge semicircle, and I think your best views are going to be facing inward, toward the main savannah and arusha rock. Zebra trail is closest to the shop, the pool, and Boma, Mara, and Jiko. SO, I would recommend second or third floor of Zebra Trail, facing inward. Have fun!

I agree with Bali.... second or third floor and most people request Arusha Rock savannah - either Kudu or Zebra trail. We had Zebra trail last year and it was wonderful (I don't recall the specific room #). This year I think we want to try Kudu trail. Also... if you don't want to walk a great distance to your room, request close to the lobby. The outer rooms can be a hike and can seem even longer after a long day at the parks!!!

In 2002 we had a savannah view room and loved it. We were on the Zebra Trail room 2546, this was a perfect location, we could see animals any time. Outside our room was a feeding area for the giraffe's plus a watering hole that drew animals and numerous birds. We used our balacony everyday and even got up early to have breakfast with the giraffe's before heading to the parks. Imagine getting up before sunrise while on vacation.

We were in 2459 on the Zebra Trail last month. We were not far from the restaurants, lobby, or pool. Our savannah view room didn't have any Zebras though. They are all on the main savannah off the lobby. We did see giraffes, ankole cattle, and some other animals though. We just loved the hotel sooo much. I felt bad leaving it everyday to go to the parks. I can't wait to go back!!!
