Hi

What is the latest word on faxing room requests to the resort you will be staying at? I know I had read mixed info on this last year, but last year I did not have any specific requests... but we will be at GF RPC this coming Saturday and I did want to request a MK view, hoping to get lucky :)

thanks!

Most importantly, make sure your request is noted on your ressie already.
We have ALWAYS sent a fax w/ our request a few days prior AND ask again at check-in before the CM goes through the whole process.
Each time, the CM at check-in has confired that it was received and noted and each time they have been able to accomodate our requests. Maybe the fax helped, maybe it didn't make any difference at all, but it certainly didn't hurt anything. (We have yet to be black listed from any of the resorts for sending them.:goodvibes :goodvibes )
I say go ahead and send it--what do you have to lose?

you think like me...I was just saying to dh...what do we have to lose! :) Thanks for your feedback, I will fax a nice sweet note tomorrow and hope it helps. I did ask my TA to add it on, we used AAA and I can only assume she did as we asked b/c I cannot look up the ressie myself.

I've been reading about making room requests when making a reservation. Is it possible to add a request after making the reservation? I already have a reservation at CSR in October and would like to request something but didn't know if I should just call.

Thanks.

Yes you can make room requests after your reservation is made. My family and I did that last December for our reservation at the Polynesian after it was confirmed and all we did was call CRO to tell them the request.

We had a great experience with our room requests this past December at the Poly.

We were a Grand Gathering with a total of 4 rooms...I asked for Tokelau on our seperate Resv number....just that, nothing else...trying to keep it simple.

I then faxed a nice note 3 days prior to arrival (read some place that the people that assign the rooms do it 3 days out so faxing prior to that would increase the chance of getting tossed)

We wound up with 1st floor Tokelau, facing the quiet pool on the end by the busses...and they were all connecting rooms! Such a nice feature for our party. They did a WONDERFUL job with our gathering.

I think Disney finally came out and said that they just throw the faxes away.

If I were you, I'd call and have the request noted in my reservation. And still remember that they cannot fufill all requests.

I think that is more like what a bunch of DIS members came out and said.

If that is Disney policy, then there are a whole bunch of CMs breaknig the rules and guests reaping the rewards as a result. :rotfl:

Since AAA booked the room I think the resort cannot take any requests directly from the guests. It is my understanding AAA owns the ressie until the guest checks in.

Hi Lisa,
when we booked thru AAA for our 2007 trip, the confirmation we rec'd from them showed the building we requested (at CSR). I also faxed the resort AND called them directly about 4 days ahead of time. Since we were a GG of 21; I wanted to make sure all our rooms were together.

thanks everyone! I called there directly today and they confirmed my request on my reservation :) cross your fingers for us.

Just out of curiosity, which room/ longhouse did you request at the Poly? I am going in Nov...havent been since the renovations. Is there any particlar floor/room/longhouse better than another?

We had a reservation for a Club Level Garden View and we knew that it would be located in the Hawaii Longhouse, which is the specific Longhouse for Club Level guests. Anyway before WDW changed all their rooms to be non smoking, we called CRO to request a non smoking room. Since that was our only stay at the Polynesian I can't really help suggest what Longhouse or floor to request.
