Anyone bring the room reports with you and pull them out at check in time? Wondering if standing at the desk holding these reports to review the room assignment before I walk away is something other people do. I just wonder what kind of look I'll get from the CM when I say 'hang on let me see if that's a good enough room for me' You know what I mean.

So do you just go with the flow or pull out the paperwork?

Thanks.

I just write down the rooms I know I don't want - any of the other rooms are GREAT

so no I don't bring the whole list - just the rooms I know I don't want....

the real woods view is pretty nice - I have seem deers, foxes, etc from my room - pretty wonderful!

I have a little notebook where I just jot down which are HA rooms (learned the hard way-don't want those) and the #'s of the ones where someone commented on great view. I'm packing and haven't decided yet whether or not to pack the room reports. It might be kind of fun to get to my room, then see how I think it compares to what someone else had to say about it ("close", "far", "noisy", etc.)

We are going during Christmas week and am curious to know which rooms are handicap....can you help me out on this?

Thanks!

I am going to take the list(s) with me to BWV, BCV and VWL - maybe a little uncomfortable but it is my vacation and my $$ and if I can avoid a room that is less than optimal I will do so

Having said that, if it is all that is ready at the time, I would in almost all cases just check in and take the room since I just want to have the best possible info to make the best possible choice at the moment at hand

Now for Dumpster view, I think I would consider waiting for a better room later

thanks

So there is no shame in my game!!LOL

I always have all my vacation documents in my Passporter and I whip it out and lay it on the counter whether it's the airport, rental car or check in counter. I will add the Room lists to my Passporter as a quick reference to view while checking in.

The CSR's always comment on my organization.

The only time in life I am that organized is on Vacation!

Liferbabe, love it - sounds like me too - I have everything all organised in a sheet protector and just whip it out - I think it impresses the Airlines people and customs people as well and makes things go faster in so much as your documentation is in one spot and nothing to hide

To be unorganised at one of the world's most structured places is just asking for trouble

Bring those room reports on!

thanks

Can we just ask at check-in if it is a HA room? If they say yes then we can ask for a different room, correct?

Might someone be willing to post their room lists for those of us who are new to DVC?

Thanks to all for all the helpful info!

Instimpres started a thread that will list Dumpster View and HA rooms here:

You can ask about a room being HA at the check in desk, but some have reported being told no at the desk, only to make it to the room to find that it is HA (handicap accessible)

Carrying a list of undesirable rooms (to you as it will vary based on preference) would at least prompt you to ask if there was anything else available or possibly could you wait for something to become available. Just gives you options, not guarantees, but options.

Im fairly new myself, so I appreciate all the detailed info we get from the Dis on the nuances of DVC.

I use this list because it is very portable. I used it the last time we went and had a great room at the BCV. My main concern is NS and NHC so I look at the list and verify those things. If the room is not on the list I ask and verify. I always get NS because of severe asthma but the NHC is important because I have a 2yr DS who has to take a bath not a shower.

I thank Instimpres for putting together the great resort room list.

Thanks for the compliments.

I obviously carry it with me for whichever pages are relevant to my room size. Than again, anyone who knows me will tell you I am far from shy. I also look it over before leaving and star a couple of my preferences. At VWL they were lovely when I turned down "dumpster view" and asked if a few of my preferences might be available. The CM thought the chart was really neat.

That said, I certainly am not standing there carrying on (as I am amazed I have seen others do) rather, just checking my options and asking nicely on other possibilites. Some of it is definetly personal preference. The CM at BCV when I asked about Epcot view stated "you have a great pool view, which is very desirable". I am sure it is but not to me...she was accomodating and I got a terrific SpaceShip Earth View.

Just my 2 cents.

Sandy - very good advice - I also have taken your reports with me - and generally the CM are open to moving you - sometimes I have run across one that won't - but most of the time they are willing.
