can i have an update on the rooms at Aulani? I was there opening day which was quite some time ago and wondering if the rooms have been renovated in any way since then? someone in these threads mentioned it but no specifics. I am looking for specifics.

Yeah I’m wondering if anyone knows if they are installing the Murphy beds there with the soft goods refurb like they are doing at other dvc properties?

They are working on the EWA tower now from the top down. Someone posted that they are working on the 12th floor at the moment. From what I understand, it is just a "soft" refurb. New carpet, mattress, etc. The furniture is not changing. That is what a cast member told me in June. But I have not seen any pictures yet.

interesting new carpet rather then flooring. nothing in the bathrooms? after all these years?

Could be new flooring instead of carpet. I really was not that interested in the details other then it was a soft refurb and not a whole new theme and furniture. I guess we have to wait and see until someone posts a picture.

Just got home from a week stay in Room 1272, an ocean view DVC studio — I’m 99.5% sure I had a refurbed room. The couch was spotless, pillows in perfect shape, new rug, and seemingly a new bed. It was great! My only complaint (if you can call it one) is the motion-sensor AC, but that’s a problem across all Disney, not just Aulani.

Looks like the most noticable change is the upgrade to a larger wall-mounted TV from the previous smaller TV cabinet mount. But otherwise very few design changes compared to other recent DVC soft goods refreshes. I wonder if it has to do with it still being an actively sold property (and therefore less owner dues available to spend), so they're keeping the refresh costs lower.
