VWL is much newer than OKW. By about seven or eight years. Only OKW and BWV have had "full" renovations.

Thanks for the info. My situation is that I have an okw reservation over Easter but I'm on wait list for vwl. The more I read about okw the more I wonder if I should cancel my wait list and just stick with Okw. We have never stayed at okw but we did stay at wl (not villas) once before. But we liked it a lot and have wanted to go back. And since Easter is a busy time I thought I'd try to get somewhere closer to monorail transportation. But from what I've read, the quieter atmosphere of okw seems nice. I see you own at both okw and vwl. Would you mind giving me your 2 cents?

We also love VWL...however, if one of your reasons for wanting to staying there is simply to be closer to the monorail I don't know IF staying at VWL will accomplish that. Don't forget...in order to get to the monorail you need to take a boat first from VWL to either MK or the Contemporary and then access the monorail from either....and once you do access the monorail the only park it is giving you quicker access to is Epcot since once you've boated from the VWL you're at the MK already....so go over your priorities and take it from there.......however, I do know if you decide to try for VWL....it's a great place to stay....very relaxing after long, crowded days.

Our first purchase was at OKW and we adore it. We also bought at VWL because we used to live in Montana and loved going to Yellowstone. The WL reminds us of Yellowstone. Both the VWL and OKW are very quiet and away from all the noise. OKW is bigger, VWL is the smallest DVC at WDW. We stay more at OKW because of the larger villas and for some reason my silly son doesn't like boat rides (and he's 18). But we are planning on VWL for Jan 2013 just because we haven't stayed there in so long.
