Hi -

we'll be going to the DLH in under three weeks now

I thought we might fax in advance shortly before we went and ask if there's any chances of taking our room preferences into account when they allocate us a room. Nothing too detailed, just would prefer to be in the same wing as the pool, and having seen joesam's pictures, ground floor with a patio would be great.

Has anyone got any experience of doing this? There's reams of info out there for WDW - when rooms get allocated, when's best to fax etc. but can't seem to find the info for DLP.

I know nothing's guaranteed but does anyone know if its worth a shot. Also my French isn't good enough to write the fax in French, anyone know whether an English one would be binned or if its worth putting it through one of the internet translation sites (my experience of these is that they can come up with some strange offerings - just try changing something from English to French and then back again and see whether its lost its meaning)

Appreciate this is several qs in one but any help gratefully received

Andy

i would also appreciate advice on this as we are going in march and are a family of 5 who have booked 2 rooms with tcooksig ,they have put on our booking that we have requested adjoining rooms but wondered whether its worth faxing as well? as its me,my dh and kids i`m really worried at the thought of me and 2 kids in one room and dh and other child on another floor or at the other end of the wing? do they have amny conecting roomd and are they on all floors or just the ground?
sorry for hijacking your thread and sorry for all the questions
thxs liz

Giving this a bump as I've not asked for specifics when booking, but hopefully someone can help :thumbsup2

I've never done this at DLP although did fax for WDW, and got ignored! (Still got lovely rooms though) I would think that faxing is well worth a try, or any direct contact you can get with the hotel eg. email or telephone - I don't know how you would get these contact details though. As regards French, I wouldn't bother as every single staff member I met spoke perfect English excepting two Chambermaids. Those translation sites are funny - the castle in DLP is called the Castle of Beautiful Wood is Sleeping if you listen to them!!

We wanted to make some requests regarding being close to the pool at the Davy Crockett Ranch. We telephoned and were told this is fine to do but they would not have our details in the system until 5 days before arrival and to call back.

Heres the numbers for the hotels if they are any help.

Disneyland Hotel (0)160 45 65 00
Hotel New York (0)160 45 73 00
Newport Bay Club (0)160 45 55 00
Sequoia Lodge (0)160 45 51 00
Hotel Cheyenne (0)160 45 62 00
Hotel Santa Fe (0)160 45 78 00
Davy Crockett Ranch (0)160 45 69 00

To ring from the UK - take off first 0 and pre fix with 0033
To ring from the US - take off the first 0 and pre fix with 001133

Hope this helps. :thumbsup2

Thanks for info -

reckon we'll fax about four or five days before going and will let you know how we get on

I know from one of the staffmebers that they don`t take any preferences.
The only thing you can do is when you check in ask for the room that you would like.

Just got back from stopping at the DLH.

If you want to be close to the pool you should ask to be in the West Wing. (the room numbers will begin with a 3). The pool is located on the ground level (Level 0).

You can get adjoining rooms we asked for them when we booked.

I asked for connecting rooms when I booked direct with Disney. I actually booked the rooms at different times, so when I booked the second one, they took the time to find my other reservation and told me they had linked the two together.

I mentioned the request again when I checked in, and apparently my connecting rooms had already been blocked (?) out for us :thumbsup2

Thanks - thought it was west wing but lost my map so wasn't 100%
