If I book and then the discounts are released can I call disney and have those discounts applied?

Or once I book, thats it, no matter what deals come out?

Yes, you can book now and if discounts come out for your period of stay, you can call and they'll apply them.

You should look on the official website under Tickets and Packages. Click on Special Offers. There have been offers out for a while now, so availability may be difficult. Only a certain number of rooms at each resort are available for any offer.

Right now there is a free dining offer that starts Sept. 30. Could you move your trip by one day?

You can also book a vacation package now and hope that a room discount comes out later. You would have to call then and have that discount applied. Note that you can only have one discount- you can't stack them.

I am going at the exact same time as you and just booked the WL. I booked the free dining package for Sept 30 - October 6. Then I booked a one night, room only visit for the night of the 29th with a AAA discount. Every night is discounted somehow. The CM noted in the reservations that they were linked, and said to "remind" them at check in that the reservations were both for me so I can stay in the same room. At worst, they move me, but I still get free dining for most of the stay and a discounted room the first night, so I'm OK taking the "risk." Look online at the special offers, and you can get an idea of which resorts/rooms will have the free dining package available by choosing the "book online" option and putting in your dates.
