The last time I went to WDW if you booked through one place (central reservations maybe) you only had to pay for one night and then could pay the remainder when you arrived. If you booked through somewhere else (WDW Travel maybe??) you had to pay the entire balance. Is this still the case? Where do I book if I only want to pay the one night deposit?

I made my reservations in July over the phone (I think that is central reservations) and I only had to make a deposit of one night's stay. I was told the rest would be due at check out. Hope this helps.

If you book a room only, you can pay a one night's deposit and the balance is due at check in. If you book a pkg, that includes a room and park tickets, then you pay a $200.00 deposit and the balance is due at 45 days out. It does not matter now who you book through.

If you do Room only, how far in advance do you have to cancel to get the deposit back?

5 days prior to check-in, so 6 days in reality. For example, if you are checking in Sept 26 this month, you must cancel by Sept 20th.
