Hello all! I am headed to the World in November and driving down. At first we had discussed staying the night before somewhere roughly 2-4 hours from Disney. Now we may just book a room only reservation at Pop for the night before. Our reservation is with the free dining promotion, so I know we could not add this day to the package (the date was not included in FD anyway). Just wondering for those who have done this, do they usually try to keep you in the same room for the rest of your stay? And a little OT, but if anyone has any other suggestions for a hotel within two or so hours of Disney (coming from Delaware) I would appreciate it!

You can request to stay in the same room, as long as it is the same resort and room category, no guarantees though.

If you book the same resort/room type as the package, have the reservations linked and put a request to keep the same room. When you check in for the first reservation, tell the CM that you have a continuing reservation and would like to keep the same room if possible. It's not guaranteed that you won't have to move, but Disney will do everything they can to accommodate your request. I can't help with hotels outside of Disney, but hopefully someone else will be able to give some suggestions :).

I'm not sure if you are looking for a place just to sleep or if you are looking for a place that offers some entertainment. If your looking for a place with activities, I believe Daytona Beach, FL is along your route and its about an hour from Disney. Plenty to do there and lots of places to stay.

A little further away is St. Augustine, FL. America's oldest city. It's about 2 hours from Disney.

We've been to Daytona and had a blast. Haven't been to St. Augustine.
