I have a room only ressie for POR next month. DH is concerned about another hurricane (we were there for Charley in 2004). How late can I add trip insurance? We are about 30 days out.

Why would you want to add trip insurance for a room only ressie?? You only need to pay one night's deposit until you check in. And worst case that is all you would lose. Wait until you arrive to pay your balance and you will be assured that you won't need to waste the $$ on trip insurance. The cost is probably going to be about the same as the one night's deposit. I haven't ever figured out the need for trip ins for a WDW trip??? But to each his/her own how to spend their money.

I think you can cancel a room only reservation within 48 hours of arrival without penalty. That should be plenty of time to know if a hurricane is looming.

I've never thought about trip insurance myself but this trip is costing us about $6000. I think DH is just being too cautious and he doesn't want to travel in a hurricane again. I didn't think it was that big of a deal, WDW was the best place to be.

This is what's printed on my room only confirmation--
