Room only reservation booked, add dining. Fastpasses be ok?

Have a room only reservation booked at POR, with the Canadian ticket deal.
Going to call & add dining plan. Last time I spoke with a CM, she detailed the process of how she would have to cancel my existing room res & then rebook as a package with dining.
40 days out from our trip, if I call today, and the CM cancels & rebooks, will my existing fastpass reservations be okay? or will they be cancelled once she cancels the original booking?

I am wondering about this, too.
I hope someone with insight answers.

Y’all may want to check out the FP FAQ sticky on the TPAS board: FastPass+ Frequently Asked Questions

AFAIK, your FPs in the situation described above are fine. FPs are only really in jeapordy if the ticket/admission media associated with them is cancelled. Tagging @hiroMYhero in case I have this wrong. :-)

Thanks!

FPs remain intact when changes are made to package reservations. Disney has a built-in safety system and FPs remain up to 1.5 days without linked tickets.

That’s plenty of time to change up a resort reservation. :)

With separately linked tickets, FPs always remain intact.

Slightly different scenario. I have a room only reservation for the end of February and am an AP holder. Until Tuesday this week (60 day mark for my room only resi) I could only book FPs 30 days out. (AP limit) As soon as my room resi was at 60 days, then I could get FPs at the 60+ mark. In my case, the room and ticket are linked somehow.

It’s the FP system that recognizes your onsite reservation and valid ticket media (AP). The onsite reservation triggers the 60-day window to open.

Your valid APs always have an open 30-day window.

@mesaboy has this explained in the FP FAQ on the Theme Parks board. :)
