Hi all. Long story - we got upgraded from a POR royal room to the poly when poeple got bumped in march (yay!) We are now thinking about flying in the night before and getting a room only reservation. Since the flight would get to MCO at 8:45pm, I just can't justify paying rack rate for a Friday night at poly for basically 10pm - 9am (if we fly out the next morning we would get in about 9am). With a 3.5 year old and 3 month old, it appeals to us to get a good nights sleep on grounds Friday night rather than catch that 6:40 am flight Saturday morning.

So, if we were to do a room only at a value, how would we get all our stuff over to poly the next day. I figure they would take our luggage, but getting our preschooler, infant, double stroller, and all our day gear onto a bus to a park, only to take another bus back to poly just to check in, and then get back on the monorail to go to EPCOT sounds horrible!!! If we could get a ride straight from the value to poly it might be worth it. Does Disney provide this?

No, they don't. In your situation I'd consider calling a taxi to take your family and stroller over to the Poly for check in and let the resort take care of the luggage.

The options are have Disney transport your luggage to the Poly, only thing with that option is your luggage may not be available until late morning/or afternoon, so make sure you take anything you need with you for the day. What we do whenever we switch hotels or split stay is take a taxi, the front desk will easily arrange a taxi van for you, price usually reasonable (around $15-20) and worth peace of mind knowing all your luggage is at the resort, quick check in and then the rest of the day to do whatever you want.

Question - if we take a taxi van, what about the kids. Do we have to have carseats for them? The thought of not having my 3.5 year old in a car seat freaks me out, but then I realized we will put him on the ME and disney buses, so the couple of minutes shouldn't be a huge deal...i hope. The baby would be in an infant car seat and could be strapped in.

Would it be easier to just stay at an airport hotel and then the next morning take the first ME bus to Poly? That way you and your luggage can go directly to Poly first thing in the morning; check-in and then off to the parks. You probably won't get into your room that early but at least you'll be all checked in.

Just a thought!

I wish we could - everything seems to be booked up. I think at this point we will just suck it up and fly out early the next morning. :(

I am planning a trip in the summer so have talked to a friend that is a big Disney visitor. She said they landed late one night and stayed at the Hyatt. It is right inside the airport, she said she did not hear any airplane noise. It also has a nice pool. I am planning to stay there for our first night and then have the Magical Express pick us up the next morning. It might be worth checking out.
