Room Only Rates Are Out For 10/30-12/23

Just saw it too!! I still come out about even with the AP rates with spending the extra $200 for an AP. Plus, I want to go back next summer and use my pass. Good Luck everyone!!

I guess the folks waiting for a code for October can put this to bed now and move on as the month of October is not offering any general public room only discounts.

WOO-HOO!!! I got to use the code!!!

Originally I had the Poly 11/18 - 11/25 with the AAA rate.
Then the AP rate came out, so I booked that BUT I don't have an AP, so I only saved about $100 over the AAA rate!
Now the room-only code (since now I don't need an AP) and I saved $150 over the AP rate!

Yea!!!

I had been waiting to book, until room-only codes came out. When I called today, the rate I was quoted for value season at a value resort with code BRY was $69/nt. The AAA rate of $63.20 was better, so that is what I booked. I hope the code helps some people.

I am so glad the waiting is over. :goodvibes We are finally booked. :cool1: We'll be at Pop Century 12/9-12/12.

I just called and tried to get the rate for my stay at POP from 11/30 to 12/10 and was told that because all of the rooms were sold out during that stay that the code could not be applied to my stay. Does this sound right?? I always thought that if you had a room booked a code could be applied.

Good for you!! In my calculations, including DDE savings it was about the same. Hope I did that right? Plus I figure I can use DDE next summer and add even more savings.

Holding a room reservation in no way guarantees you a discount on the room. Sometimes that system works out for folks, but most of the times it does not. There actually has to be the exact same reservation with a discount available, then disney will apply the discount. If there are no discounted rooms available, then no discount will be applied to the reservation. You could always try to do a split stay at the same resort. you could ask if there is a discounted room available for the first few days and make a separate reservation, then modify your current one to take those days off. It would save you a few dollars, but you are required to make a second deposit also. You rarely will have to move out of your room during a split stay for the exact same room, but there is always the possibility.

We are only doing this trip, so not having to get the AP was great.

The CM kept telling me that I'd be saving more with the AP, so I finally had to tell her that I haven't bought the AP yet. Then she understood why I wanted to switch.

I looked into DDE as well, but we can't use it for 3 of our meals...HDDR, MM w/Fantasmic & Coral Reed with CP.

In the end I am happier with this. We will all have the same tickets, I don't have to worry if the DDE card will be cost effective, and now I can suit back and relax.

Can I ask what your rate was with tax a night? Mine is $325 with AP and Mousesavers said $304 + tax for GV Poly?

I called and these are prices I was quoted for Nov 3rd and 4th:

All Star Movies:
pref room only available - 101 (plus tax) per night
AAA rate is/was 94 (plus tax) per night, pref
Disney discount - 10 dollars
AAA discount 17 dollars
so for ASMo AAA discount is better.

Port Orleans Riverside:
124 (plus tax) per night -
AAA rate is/was 131.75 per night
Disney discount - 31 dollars
AAA discount 23.25 dollars
so for POR Disney discount rate is better.

POFQ: Not available

I'm sticking with the AAA rate at All Star Movies

Came out to $342/night for Poly GV.

If you already HAVE an AP, then that disc IS better.

I couldn't get the package rates when they came out, so I took the AP rate, even though I didn't have an AP, and was just going to buy one. Now I don't have to get the AP. I can just get park hoppers.

I saved a whopping $14 with this code but ever little bit helps :). I had 5 nights standard at BC 12/4-12/9 with an extra adult for $1,583 (AAA rate). The code brought it to $1,569.

Thanks!!! I have to buy another one too, mine expired in May. Maybe we'll see each other there. Aloha!!! :teeth:

Sounds right to me. I've been reading this board a long time, and discounts have always been "if available". There's a limited # of rooms available at a discount and no one really knows quite how it works (ie, if I get a discounted room and then cancel it, will that room be available for someone else at the discount rate ----- some CMs say it won't). Many people with an existing reservation have posted that their choice of resort and date wasn't available for the discount.

Try switching resorts, dates, OR check to see if the discount is available for part of the trip and book 2 separate reservations (which could complicate the dining plan, if you're planning on that). It's all part of the game that is played to get the best rate available --- sometimes it's simple and easy, sometimes it's challenging and takes multiple phone calls (which certainly has paid off for many people) and sometimes it doesn't work out. It's helpful to be flexible.

Hope you have a great trip!

Is BRY the same as the new BRZ code that is up on the website? That information is:

89* per night, plus tax, at a select Disney Value Resort in a standard room 10/30 - 11/9, 11/12 - 11/18.

However, if you go to the actual search page, it says 10/30-12/23.

I just changed my reservation (WL woods view for 5 nights) from AAA to BRY--saved a whopping $74! Hey, that'll buy a MVMCP sweatshirt and a cheeseburger, right?!
