Hi all,

We are headed to AllStar Sports soon. Our first three nights are room only and the next 5 are our dreammaker package.

We have been told that we cannot be assured the same room from the room only stay to the dreammaker stay, which is consecutive.

We have been trying to wrap our heads as to why we may have to change rooms when we will be at the exact same resort.

We really do not want to change but we would/will if we have to but our preference is obviously not to change.

It will be just the two of us so one of the only ways we can see this as being acceptable is if we are in a room with two double beds and get switched to a room with a King. We have requested a King for both stays but are not holding our breath.

Does anyone know the rationale behind this?

Has anyone had a split stay at the same resort and manage to hold on to their original room?

Thanks in advance all,

JK

We've done room-only for the first night of our stay on our last 2 trips at POR and kept the same room. I think they tell you they can't guarantee it just to cover their tails in case for some odd reason you couldn't keep the same room. When you check-in, mention the fact that you have 2 reservations, and if at all possible you'd love to keep the same room. I don't think you'll have a problem. If you do as long as you stay polite you'll probably get some pixie dust sprinkled on you;)

We have done this many times. When you check in, tell tham that you have another reservation and ask if you can keep the same room. You will have to check out and check in, but you can do both at the same time. I have never had to move rooms.

Thanks for the tips and past experiences!

We have both worked in the service industry in the past and would never treat a service person poorly.

I hope we get what we are looking for but being totally honest, if we have to change, it's really not that big a deal.

Thanks,

Since you are booked on 2 separate reservations, technically, you have to check out and then check back in. Be sure to have Disney reservations note that you have a continuing reservation. Also make sure you reiterate this at check in. The resort will do their best to try to keep you in the same room, but there are no guarantees.
