Room Only + Dining process?

We are currently booked to stay at CBR from 12/10-12/21 with "free" dining, 5 day base tix, 2Adults, 3yrold, and 15yr old. We chose 5 day tix because the 15yr old will only be with us for 5 days. Our plan is to upgrade the other 3 to PAP to cover this the full length of this trip, another trip next September, and maybe visit for mom/3yr old with their cousins next summer. That's easy.

However, the 3 of us who will be upgrading to APs are now planning to arrive a couple days earlier and are figuring out where/what/how we want to stay.

If possible, we would like to do a room only + dining (paid, not free) option. I've read that this is possible for annual passholders. I've also read that it is possible to pick up our tickets from the 10 day reservations a couple days ahead of time and pay to upgrade them to APs at that time.

Based on our ADRs the dining plan will save money those two days vs. paying out of pocket, but that would be the fall-back approach. I don't want to buy "extra" tickets associated with the 2-night stay that we wouldn't use for over a year.

Since the dining plan needs to be added in advance, we'd have to have this booked before we actually had the passes in hand, but if we stopped at a park/DTD before the hotel we should be able to present them at check-in. Is there a mechanism/process to accomplish this?

Can you move your arrival date earlier? You won't be charged extra for the 15 yo for those nights? Then you won't have to move, get your tickets plus the free dining for those extra days if you can.

Or did you check and you can't change? Sorry if I missed that in your note.

If you need to pick up your tickets in advance, check out the tickets sticky at the top of the Theme Parks board. It explains where and how you can pick up the tickets, you can just upgrade them at the same time.

In theory, you can do exactly what you want to do. You *can* book a package as an AP holder that is room+dine. You *can* pick up your tickets up to 3 days before the start of your package. You *can* upgrade those tickets to APs. It is just a matter of being able to get it all in the right order and to have CMs at all locations who can/will do what you need them to do.
