Room only added to package question

We have a free dining package we are really happy with for August of this year which obviously includes our hopper tickets. We just found out some friends will be able to meet us a few days before our current reservation. I still want to stay on property beforehand, but I don’t want to break the bank by adding days at our current resort.

If I add some room only nights beforehand at a value resort and link it to MDE, will I have access to my tickets while I stay there, or will I have to wait until I check in with my free dining package? Thank you for the help in advance.

You will be able to use the tickets, BUT you will have to activate them on arrival and will be unable to book advance FP+ for those dates before your package begins until they are activated, in-person and on-site.
