This might sound like a weird question, but... I just made a ressie for a trip in Aug using the 40% code (called and it was "attached" to my name -- I've called 3 other times recently and this was the first time they told me I had it -- never got an email or post card, so keep trying, folks! :goodvibes )

Anyway, we wanted to try POP this trip. I tell the CM this and she says it's her favorite resort, and she loves the Mr. Potato Head section. Asks me do I like Mr. Potato Head. I say, sure, who doesn't, we even got a box full of Disney World Potato Head parts on our last trip and the kids love to play w/them. She says, oh great! Would you like me to request that your room be in the Mr. Potato Head section? Now, I have never been to POP, so I do not know if this is a "good" section to be in or what, but I figure what the heck, I can change it later if I need to. So I say, OK go ahead. They sent me the confirmation email and it does show up as our request.

My question is, where is this Mr. Potato Head section? I can't find him on the maps and all I can see on any of the Disney sites w/pics of the resort is a statue of him somewhere on the grounds with his lovely wife but near what building? 80's maybe? Where will they put us if they honor this request?

Also, where is a good spot to request for our room? We will have our own car so busses are not an issue. I'd love to be away from lots of noise and not have to walk a mile from parking. Any thoughts from POP lovers?

Go to that map. See the "80's" marking. Go above that and you will see a circular pale orange sunburst. They are right there. So you could be in 70's or 80's. Plus is you will be close to your car !

I don't think there is any bad location at POP in terms of walking, very small footprint. Just a matter of personal choice in theme, which pool you may want or if you want to view the lake.

The map and pictures are really helpful. Thanks for the info! I can see where they are. That was so funny about the CM and her Potato Head obsession!

The end of either the 70's or 80's over by Mr and Mrs PH would be OK, they seem close to the pking lot. But would that be a significant walk to the food court? What about the 50's? It seems close to everything. Is that a preferred building? Thanks again...

We stayed in the 80s section room 7111 in Jan 06 and Mr & Mrs Potato Head were out our door and to the left by the lake. It wasn't far at all from the food court and bus stops. There is actually a short cut by the playground to the bus stops.

lots of us Pop loves are big fans - mind is Tramp - love him!!! Love his building in the 50's. on my 5 trips this is the only building I have stayed in.

the 50's are close - only the rooms close to the pool and food court are preferred. the ones close to the lake are standard. (I know strange ideal of preferred and standard)

but nothing and I mean nothing is very far. you walk the entire grounds here not a problem.
