Hello! Going to the Boardwalk soon and the only room we could get was a standard view studio. Are these scattered all around the resort or in one area? Can anyone suggest a room number?

I wouldn't go in looking for a particular room number. When we checked in on 8/15, the CM told us that if we wanted to wait he could give us a village green with Epcot view studio. Yes, it was a preferred view and that's what our points covered. But, when you check in, the CM will most likely be able to tell you what views are open. And then you can decide. Now, that's not to say that you will be given a choice of a bunch of rooms. But they could say we have room A with a parking lot view or room B with a garden view. Keep your requests simple and limited. It's worked for me every time at every resort.

Oh, and have a great trip. You're going to love BWV!!! It is a really wonderful spot. We are so glad it is our home resort.

All of the standard view rooms overlook the resort entrance and the driveway leading up to it. IMHO, the views (even though you can see the parking lots) are not bad - there are flowers and nice landscaping between the villas and the black top areas.

So far, all of our BWV stays have been in standard view rooms.
Here are some things you may consider requesting:

Dedicated - no connecting door to a 1 bedroom, slightly larger and small bench seat.

Upper/Lower Floor

Close/Not close to the elevators. The rooms that are farther away are quieter (less hallway traffic) and many of them have a view of the higher level fireworks of IllumiNations from the balcony. However, if you are traveling with strollers, ECVs, wheelchairs or anyone with mobility issues, you probably be better off close to the elevators. There is only one bank of elevators for the villas and they are just off the lobby. BTW, the lobby is on the 2nd floor of the resort.

We usually ask for an upper floor, across from the bus stop. These rooms are convenient for people who don't mind the stairs, are relatively quiet and most have a view of the fireworks.

Be sure to keep your requests general (as goofy4tink posted, asking for a specific room is not a good idea) and list them in order of importance. Most people list their smoking / non-smoking preference first.

Also, call MS with your requests. The DVC resorts do not read faxes or consider them when rooms are assigned - just too many to deal with.

Most rooms at the BWV are preassigned. It is almost always booked at or very near capacity. You may not have much if any room choice at check in.

Have fun!
