As a mom and Girl Scout Leader coming in June, we have some questions about using our passes as credit cards and room keys.

Can a minor have charging privleges? Most of the girls going have moms going also, so each mom would make the call for each girl.

We are looking at Length of Stay Passes (or whatver they are called) so will our room key and park pass be the same?

Any helpful hints? (the girls are 14, 15 & 16 yr old). I was hoping that my own daughter, who would be very responsible, could have some charging privileges for times when I am not right with her.

Hello,

Can't help you with your question but perhaps I can give you an alternative. Visa(I'm sure you've seen the comercials) has prepaid visa's. You put the money on the card and the girls should be able to charge away. It would be one more card to carry around but might be better than lots of cash.

Hope it all works out.

If you are travelling on a package, your room key and park passes would be one and the same (length of stay passes). You can choose to have charging privildges on that card, and the card will have printed on it- not for charging, or for charging, whichever you choose. You register a credit card at check in. Depending on the resort you stay in the limit for charging is $500- $1500 (value-deluxe resorts), but when that limit is reached you can have the amount charged to the registered card and atart over again! Hope this answers you question! Happy shopping! (you cannot charge drinks/snacks from cart vendors in the parks- they only take cash).

Yes, a minor can charge. The responsible adult/ owner of the charge card can give that permission at check in.

To add to what has been said, yes they can have charging priv. but although each card has it's own unique number, each room is given only 1 master bill. You would than need to divide it among yourselves and settle it at checkout.

I second the prepaid Visa. I know you can get them at Simon Malls for about $3 fee.

Enjoy
I am very jealous of your troop. I would like to do that instead of Majesca.

Yes, as others have said, a minor can be given charging authority on check in. In 1995 we were there with a then 10 year old daughter, and when the check in CM asked about that I looked at DD and envisioned her walking into a toy store and taking the lot. At that time I smiled and said, no thank you.

In subsequent trips, however, I gave her the authority. When she was younger it was great fun for her, and when she was a late teen, it gave her control and flexibility. This January my lovely spouse and I are dining at Victoria and Albert's. DD is on her own for the evening. Now 18, she assures me she'll be able to find dinner somewhere in WDW.

When you check in you will get a room key for each registered adult and child (ages 3-9). If you give them a credit card to put on the room, unless you specify otherwise only the room keys for the adults will be valid for charging. I've never done it, but based on the posts so far it seems like you can have children's keys validated for charing if you request that. There will only be one bill per room.
