If a person has 2 non-connecting rooms do all the keys open both doors? I would want to be able to get into my kids room and them into ours.

Thanks, T&B

I am in the same situation and have asked this question. They say that they cannot program your card for two rooms, but you can have copies of each room made, so your children can get into your room and you can get into theirs.

That works! As long as I have some way to get into their room and them into mine.

Thanks, T&B

We have this all the time on our cruises and my husband is booked in one room with the boys and my daughter with us. Just go to the guest services desk and tell them that you need keys for the other rooms. They will gladly resprint you keys to open the door only, they won't have all the info on them that your original KTTW card does so you'll have no problems telling them apart. The only downside is that someone has to carry 2 KTTW cards!

Carolyn, can we do this when we check in? Or do we have to wait for later and go to guest services?

You have to wait until you're on the ship. I have always asked at the port but they always tell me that I have to wait until we're on board and have guest services do it. We always make our Palo ressies and have lunch then go to the guest services desk prior to going to our stateroom. It's quick and easy and they're happy to help you.

Yep...the second card is just a blank card with no printing on it....we just took a permanent marker and put a different symbol on each card so we would know which blank went to which room. Don't do what my hubby did...got down to Deck 1 to get off at port and realized he had the blank card on him and not the "real" card with his name....had to run back upstairs and get the right one!!

I'm assuming that a person can get enough extra cards so that each person can have a card for each room.

Do you punch holes in the cards and put them on a lanyard, carry them in something around the neck, or what?

With room keys and park passes at WDW I put them in a little credit card holder (which also has a clear window to put fastpasses in) and then I carry that in a fanny pack, but on the ship I sure wouldn't want to carry around a fanny pack.

Actually they have always limited us to one extra key per room. Now when my daughter lost her extra key, they did print her up another one but they claim they deactivated the first spare.

That's kind of a pain--since my kids are older (well, the oldest 3) and will have run of the ship. I would want them to be able to get into my room and more importantly I would want my DH and I to each be able to get into their cabin. I suppose we could just leave the extra key in a designated place in the other cabin. I guess one positive to getting connecting cabins.

Decisions!!!
