Room for Toddler Bed in AKV Studio?

We are getting ready to make reservations for March and had planned on a studio at either GFV or WLV depending on availability. We have a six year old boy and a four year old daughter who refuse to share sleeping space so the studios with the little pull down beds work great for us!

However, my daughter is very enamored with the idea of staying at AKV and we would like to try to do that if we could. If we did that we would rent her a toddler bed to sleep on from Orlando Crib Rental or a similar company.

From your experience would we be crazy cramped with the sofa pulled out and a toddler bed in the room? I love the idea of making her happy but also don't want to feel like we are packed in the room for that many days. For reference, we did fine in a GFV studio with the three of us last March so that size worked for us.

Thanks for any suggestions you can give!

Can't really help with size of room but can help for a toddler bed. We use a blow up one that is fantastic and she loves it. Easier than renting and folds up super compact. We bought ours from Walmart. As far as space, I've read that the studios are pretty small, especially once you open up the couch.

Thanks, that's a really good suggestion because we could either deflate it or stand it up against the wall when she's not actually lying on it.

I've only ever been in a one-bedroom at AKV so I'm still curious as to people's thoughts on the studio size and configuration...

This Disney site shows the floor plan (with furniture) of a Kidani Studio from several angles: http://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/destinations/resorts/animal-kingdom-villas/rooms/

Once the page loads, hover your mouse pointer over the Floor Plans button. Then select one of the five views of the Kidani Studio floor plan. Once that displays you can click on the double arrows over on the left to step through all five views.

The studios in Jambo House are a similar size but the bathroom is laid out differently. The vanity area is in an open space and the tub and toilet are in a separate room next to that area. Also, some of the Jambo studios have the connecting door in the living area rather than the entryway. In those rooms the position of the bed and sofa are reversed.

If you pull out the sleeper sofa, I doubt there would be room, but if the six year old could sleep on the couch (in couch form), then it might work.

That's a really good suggestion, actually. I don't see why he wouldn't like that but you never know.

It's way more sensible to plan on VWL probably.

The furniture at AKV is larger than other resorts which takes away some of the usable floor space. We have been in a similar situation and had to stack some furniture to make it work. Using just the sofa and not as a pull out will make it a much better experience.

I'm a little late to this, but the pullout sofa is nearly the size of twin when not pulled out and with back cushions removed. Slide the coffee tables out of the way, they should fit between the sofa and slider door wall. And get the intex inflatable toddler bed!!! My kid sleeps in it at home sometimes, he loves it so much! Plus you can put it on its end during the day, or put it on your bed.

My kid is a poor sleeper when he has people to see/talk to (like hours of endless talking) so you could also put the toddler bed in the sink nook. Its separate, it fits, and you can move it in the morning.

I've also put some furniture on the balcony to make the room a bit easier for this kind of thing--the two chairs for example.

Bolding is mine...no flames please, but am I the only who cringes when I read stuff like this? This is why we can't have nice things :goodvibes
