Room discounts with free dining?

Ok, we just got back from a week at WDW and I find out that they are offering free dining again! So now I'm planning a trip in August, and my question, which I'm sure has been answered somewhere here but I couldn't find it, is if I book a package with free dining, can I also get a AAA room discount? Or an AP room discount if they come out? Or is it an either/or thing? I usually book everything separately, but I will either go through CRO or AAA with this trip.

THe free dining is on a package only. You have to pay rack rate for your room and buy a ticket for everyone in your room (same length for all), then you can add the free dining.

Most of us AP holder who purchased this package, just purchases one day tickets for all and will apply them to our next renewal. If you stay at a value or moderate, the savings is huge.

BTW: no discounts on packages. You have to crunch the numbers to see if this works for you.

Obstensibly, the free dining is the discount. For many folks, it is more than worth paying full price for everything else.
