Room Discounts & PINS

Hi -
I would like to first express my sadness that Disney "blacked out" for Annual Passholders 11/25 and 11/26 on the most recent release of room discounts (BTW they did the same for the General Public discounts too). I was going to make a solo trip but definately cannot afford 2 of 3 nights at full price. I spend Thanksgiving by myself anyway, so I thought a trip to WDW would be great to kick my holidays off and pick my spirits up with but not at a studio still running $600+ for 3 nights. So sad.....

On that note, does anyone know the rhyme or reason how Disney decides to issue PINS and to who? People here talk about how they get them regularly and then there are those of us who have never received one. Seems their criteria only benefits some, and the same people on a regular basis and many not at all. I hold, and use regularly, a Disney VISA, have an AP, logins to the websites, etc. Still nothing. Just curious.:rolleyes1

Sometimes I wonder if an AP reduces our chances of getting a PIN, because they figure we're already a captive audience with access to various discounts. I've never had a PIN, and I've done every suggestion on every thread that's ever been written. Of course, there's no guarantee with a PIN that your dates wouldn't be a blackout also.

I've stayed solo at all different levels of resort, based on my budget and why I'm there. Is there any reason why you couldn't stay in a value resort? I see that they still have availability for that weekend, and a standard room with two nights full rate, one night discounted is only $381, more than $200 less than you mentioned. If you're planning on hitting the parks a lot to see the holiday happenings, that's what I would do. Play around with the passholder website and see what you can come up with.

A trip staying at a value resort is better than no trip at all!
